Today is a very important day in the Blooming Balloons family! Our third generation employee turns 16! Wil does entertainment twisting for us, as well as helps out on decor jobs and today is his birthday! He is honestly an amazing young man. Being a family-owned business, you know I had to brag! But I will tie it back to balloons! Wil doesn't like a lot of attention and doesn't let me throw birthday parties for him. But three years ago, he let me and his nana, Judy, throw him a huge bash at the Crabtree Marriott. We invited his whole 8th grade class. The theme was luau and we went crazy! There was a 12ft balloon volcano that had smoke and lit up lava. There was a name arch with palm trees and a different luau themed centerpiece for every table. We had ceiling busters and a hanging dance floor, as well as a fun tunnel entryway. Here are just a few photos from that fun event in celebration of this wonderful day! Frozen is so popular and this is the first time we've been able to do a birthday party with the Frozen theme. We made Anna and Elsa centerpieces, as well as some Snowflake centerpieces. All of these had the most beautiful glittering snowflakes on the balloons. So pretty! We also did hanging snowflakes made from linking balloons that were suspended from the ceiling.
We try to bring something new to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Kick-Off Breakfast each year, so this time we focused on the slogan "Finish The Fight" and spelled it out in 4 ft letters in the front of the room. We also created a 10ft tall balloon wall backdrop featuring a pink awareness ribbon to go behind the speakers' podium. To round out the decor, we added fireworks columns along the walls and hanging fireworks and ribbons in the registration area. Lastly, we hung a the word HOPE over the Survivor's Table. We are so inspired by the efforts of MSABC and we hope our decor added something special to their important kick-off event!
We love our corporate clients and this week we had two opportunities to work with Verizon. The first event, on Wednesday was for a Verizon executive's birthday party held at the Oakz Restaurant on Glenwood. We did some Blue & White Balloon Trees to match the theme of University of Kentucky.
